Group philosophy
Life Groups have traditionally been focused on Prayer and Bible Study, both of which are critical to a healthy Christian life. In today’s environment, in addition to Prayer and Bible study, we encourage our leaders to consider the areas of life that they have experienced, and in which they have developed some degree of proficiency, and to structure Life Groups studies and activities around these areas.
People with expertise in areas such as music, gourmet cooking, sports activities, camping, marriage excellence, reading, history, etc., are able to focus the attention of people with similar interests during weekly Life Group meetings. These meetings will also have an element of caring, sharing, identifying and praying for each others needs.
What is your passion in life? Have you matured in some of the spiritual disciplines such as prayer, meditation and Bible study? Have you developed skills in music or the arts? Do you possess financial expertise that can be used to help others with personal budgeting and investments? What hobbies do you participate in on weekends or during other spare time? Do you fish, camp, play golf, shoot hoops? Have you considered that God may have gifted you in these areas and through them you can share and encourage others?
Leaders make their time with others count by using the gift that God has given them and the areas of expertise that they have developed to encourage others to grow and mature in life. Leaders use their zest for life to help others to develop their gifts and to enjoy strong, healthy relationships that will prepare them to become leaders and a blessing to those that they too will lead.
Be a good listener! Be an encourager! Be a Life Group Leader!
Group Structure
Embassy Life Groups are weekly or bi-weekly gatherings of Embassy adherents and their friends with a focus on a variety of topics or activities. Typically groups consist of 10-12 people that meet in people’s homes or in suitable locations for the study or activity. Bible study and prayer are the most common focus and groups are/will be established to center on common interest as needed and requested.
We are developing leaders and establishing groups that will focus on Bible studies, prayer missions, grief share, singles, hobbies, sports, etc. There are groups for men, women, junior varsity, youth, young adults, couples and those desiring divorce care.
All Embassy Life Groups are led by approved Leaders who are purposeful in their objective – to encourage and assist group members to grow in their relationship with others and with Jesus Christ
Who can join?
Embassy Life Groups are open to those who make The Embassy their home Church and to their friends and neighbors as well as to anyone who shares the respective Life Group common interest. When registering, please understand the underlying purpose and objective of the Life Group - to encourage and assist group members to grow in their relationship with others and with Jesus Christ Once a group is filled up (maximum of 12) the group will be closed and another group will be started, if warranted, based on registration for that particular study or activity.
