It’s The Right Time Now (Book)
I stood there splashing cold water on my face. I looked into the mirror. I was shockingly white. The skin around my eyes was black as the night sky and the whites of my eyes were as red as fire. For the first time, I saw what I had become. I was a down and out drunk. Broke, scared and lonely – this was how I was going to die. I was convinced this was the day it would all come to an end.
After what seemed like an hour at the sink I started to feel my heart slow down. Most of the time, the only way to slow down my heart after a night out was to have a drink, but this time as I stood there I slowly started to feel a little better. I couldn’t stop looking at myself in the mirror. Who was I looking at?
